With the weather heating up, it's time to start checking out some with your four-legged friend! What dog doesn’t like a ball to chase, right? There are more dog balls and toys on the market today than ever, so finding the best dog ball for your pup should be a pretty easy endeavor, unless you’re Haley of course. A lot of dogs like Haley enjoy bouncing balls off their noses, so lightweight balls like beach balls are perfect for this type of play. There’s just one problem though, they last about 30 seconds before those canine teeth puncture through the plastic and your dog parades around the room with their fresh kill. I guess it’s like popping bubble wrap to us humans.

At our house, we certainly have done our share to boost the dog economy. We buy Beachball and our other Husky, Vanya, high-quality dog food at more than $50 for a 30-pound bag. Dog biscuits and other treats are purchased regularly. Of course, there are the veterinary bills, including the $2,000 for surgery to repair Beachball’s torn ACL in his back leg in 2012.

Every morning we strolled through town and over to Laite Beach for a pre-breakfast swim and beach ball.We got a free promo inflatable beach ball from a Chili Festival recently and I decided to let our almost 2 year old English Cream Golden Retriever dog have some fun with it.
He energetically tosses it around, flips it up in the air, jumps on the couch with it in his mouth, plays tug of war with me and then starts ripping it apart with his teeth and spitting out the pieces on the rug.
